Frite Nite at the
Riding Stables
Frite Nite returns to the Riding Stables on Friday, October
23 and Saturday, October 24 from 7 pm - 11 pm. This is event is open to the

Center Library Fall Carnival
Center Library invites you to come join us for some fun fall activities on
Tuesday, October 27 from 4–5:30 pm.
Light refreshments will be served. There will be a Costume Contest,
Pumpkin Carving Contest, and Halloween Craft. Stop by or call the Center

patrons.

Spooky 5K

On Saturday, October 31, the Fortenberry-Colton Physical
Fitness Center will host the annual Spooky 5K, 1-Mile Fun Run, and Costume
Contest. Registration on the day of the event will begin at 7:30 am through
8:45 at the Fort Rucker Festival Fields. The run will start at 9 am. The 1-Mile
Fun Run is free and open to all children and will begin after the 5K is
completed. Each Fun Run participant will receive a medal. There will be a
costume contest with 1st place trophies for Overall Best Costume, Scariest
Costume, and Most Original Costume for both adults and children. The costume
contest is free to enter and will start at 8:15 am. Cost for the run is $20
until October 25 with a t-shirt, or $25 from October 26 through race day
(includes shirt while supplies last). There is also a $12 no shirt option.
Teams cost $120 per 8-person team (each additional person pays normal
registration fee) through October 25, which includes shirts, or $160 from
October 26 through race day (includes shirts while supplies last). Trophies
will be awarded to Overall Male/Female, 1st place trophies in 14 age categories
and medals for 2nd and 3rd place in 14 age categories; team trophy to 1st place
team and team streamers awarded to the top 10 teams. Participants are
encouraged to pre-register for the event at either PFC. For more information,

Trick or Treating
Get your Halloween costumes ready! Trick or Treating will take place on Fort Rucker from 6-8pm for on post residents.

Think the Center Library is simply full of paperback books? Think again! Center Library has so much to offer its customers, including E-books, eResources, Transparent Language Online, CDs, audio books, video games, and more.
Want to download an E-book? Simply log on to the Center Library’s online library catalog and start browsing for either educational or pleasure reading.
Need to brush up on your Spanish skills? Rosetta Stone programs are available to patrons with Spanish being one of the most popular. In addition, Transparent Language Online is accessible to everyone on Center Library’s website. It offers basic language courses in 48 foreign languages, and uses other activities to aid in language development.
In order to set up an account online with Center Library, visit the website listed below and click on the “Online Catalog” link. Log in with the e-mail address you provided when applying for a library card. Once you have an account set up, you can put books on hold, make a reading list, and enjoy more resources than paper books can provide.
The fun doesn’t stop there. Children’s Story Time is every Friday from 10:15 – 11 a.m. Children ages 2-5 are able to listen to a story read and enjoy craft time or coloring. A special children’s Craft-Making Activity is held monthly.
